Scientific Leadership & Vision

​

Dr. Patrícia Eichler-Barker is an internationally experienced biological oceanographer whose research explores marine ecosystems, environmental change, and the relationships between oceanographic processes and climate.

As the scientific inspiration behind EcoLogicProject's Women in Science Initiative, she champions opportunities for emerging researchers through international collaboration, field education, and scientific mentorship.

 

International Research & Academic Experience

 

Her academic career includes research appointments and collaborations associated with the University of Delaware, Delaware Geological Survey, Kiel University in Germany, Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, UC Santa Cruz, and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Brazil.

Her work integrates marine micropaleontology, sedimentary records, geochemical indicators, and oceanographic observations to investigate environmental conditions and long-term ecological change.

​

She has also received U.S. immigration approval under the EB-1A extraordinary ability classification, recognizing her qualifications in her field.

​

Field Expeditions & Scientific Contributions

Dr. Eichler-Barker's international research experience includes Antarctic field investigations and oceanographic research in the Western Pacific.

​

Her scientific activities encompass coastal and marine environmental assessment, sediment analysis, benthic foraminifera, and the study of ecological responses to environmental pressures.

Her broader professional contributions include scientific publishing, international research collaboration, graduate mentorship, and participation in climate and environmental assessment processes.
